B-29 "DOC" Restoration Project

 

June 2010 Bomb Wing 73rd Visit Outboard wing restoration is continuing at the Newton shop.  Recent “OK to close” gave the go ahead to install the last skins on the RH wing.   The crew wishes they had six foot long arms to reach the fasteners hidden way back inside the wing as they roll the skin back to do a few rivets at a time.   Slow work but they are almost finished with RH wing.
